Not Less Than 16 Feared Dead As Marine Corps Plane Crashes In Mississippi

Fred Randle, county emergency management director, said at least sixteen people have died in the crash of a Marine Corps airplane in Leflore County, Mississippi, on Monday.

According to CNN, Randle said all 16 victims were on the plane and there were no survivors from the aircraft.

The Marine Corps made the announcement of the incident on its Twitter account, but did not provide details.
Mississippi Governor, Phil Bryant, said the incident was a ‘tragedy’.

“Our men and women in uniform risk themselves every day to secure our freedom,” he said.
Local media outlets at the crash site were expecting an update from officials late Monday night, but Randle said they had no additional information to offer, citing the ongoing investigation.
The aircraft was a KC-130, one of the most extensively used planes in the military.
Last week Thursday, a Nigerian Air Force Helicopter was also reportedly crashed into a pool of water in Maiduguri, the capita of Borno State, but no life was lost.
Also, we had reported another story where a Nigerian Air Force Helicopter that crashed at the old site of Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, killing all the 12 people on board.
